Baby Dedication

We want to emphasize the importance of this opportunity and the responsibilities that come with it. Baby Dedication is not just a ceremony; it is a solemn commitment to raising your child in accordance with the teachings of Scripture. We believe that the guidance provided in the Word of God is invaluable in shaping the lives of our children.

Allow us to share some pertinent scriptures that highlight the significance of parenting in the light of God's Word:

1. Proverbs 22:6 – "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it."
2. 1 Samuel 1:27-28 – "For this child, I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is lent to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.
3. Psalm 127:3 – "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward."
4. Deuteronomy 6:5-7 – "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart..."
5. Jeremiah 29:11 – "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
6. Jeremiah 1:5 – "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations."
7. Ephesians 6:4 – "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

We challenge and encourage you to live out these scriptures daily, recognizing the privilege and responsibility of parenting. Baby Dedication serves as a moment when parents dedicate themselves to raising their children in a godly home. While Innovation Church is committed to partnering with you in this journey, we acknowledge that you have the primary role in shaping your child's life.

During the dedication service, we will ask you the following questions, and we invite you to reflect on them in preparation for the ceremony:

1. Do you today recognize these children as the gifts of God and give heartfelt thanks for God’s blessing?
2. Do you now dedicate your children to the Lord who gave them to you all, surrendering all worldly claims upon their lives in the hope that they will belong wholly to God?
3. Do you pledge as parents that, with God’s fatherly help, you will bring up your children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, making every reasonable effort, with patience and love, to build the Word of God, the character of Christ, and the joy of the Lord into their lives?
4. Do you promise to provide, through God’s blessing, for the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of your children, looking to your own heavenly Father for the wisdom, love, and strength to serve them and not use them?
5. Do you promise, God helping you, to make it your regular prayer that, by God’s grace, your children will come to trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of their sins and for the fulfillment of all his promises to them, even eternal life; and in this faith follow Jesus as Lord and obey his teachings?

If you yourself or your partner are wavering in any of these areas we are asking that you not participate in this service and reserve a spot at a late date as you continue to walk out your faith journey. There is no problem in waiting!

We are pleased to inform you that the Baby Dedications will take place during the first and second services, towards the end of the services. To ensure a meaningful experience for each family, we kindly request that we limit the number of families to two per service. If you could PLEASE reply which service is best for you and your family you will get the spots prioritized for you.

If, for any reason, you feel unable to make this commitment at this time, we completely understand. In such cases, we encourage you to wait for our next Baby Dedication. Your child's dedication is a personal decision and should be made with careful consideration and readiness.
